Wyke SO Nationals 2025 Day 2
Day 2: Tenacity, Tired Legs & Triumph
Day two at Wyke dawned with heavy legs and high spirits. Our Team NW athletes may have been feeling the miles, but they showed exactly what they're made of grit, resilience, and that unmistakable team spirit.
The racing didn’t let up, with a demanding trio of events: the 10k Time Trial, 5k Road Race, and 3k Road Race. Every race brought its own test, and every single athlete dug deep. And once again, our North West team delivered, walking away with two Silvers, a Bronze and a Gold. A proud moment for all.
Just like the day before, the event ran like clockwork, safe, smooth, and brilliantly hosted. Massive thanks to Summat Creative and the army of volunteers, parents who gave their time and energy to make it all happen. It’s no small feat, and it means the world.
More than just medals, what stood out again was the atmosphere, full of encouragement, laughter, and genuine support. This community athletes, families, coaches, organisers is what makes Special Olympics events so special. For many, this is more than just a competition; it’s life-changing.
So here’s to the races, the moments, the memories and to every person who made it possible. Team NW is heading home with full hearts, tired legs and already looking forward to next year.
